Public Golf Facilities Australia (PGFA) was formed in 2016 to ensure representation of the businesses that provide the pathway for public golf nationally.
Facilities include golf courses, driving ranges, mini golf and simulators that provide seven-day access to the public as its primary mode of operation.
PGFA was formed to provide the following:
1. Direction for best practice operations and to develop common strategies in order to generate greater participation and profitability
2. Capture of vital benchmarking information to highlight the health of public golf
3. Access to golf’s key industry bodies to influence major growth initiatives
Best Practice Operations
Examples from public golf facilities provided to highlight best practice and events to learning more about public golf. Networking with owners and operators of public golf facilities.
Captured to understand the health and trends of public golf. High level information will be sought from all Member entities annually. Information will be collected and collated by a non-golf external party to ensure data confidence, transparency and confidentiality and shown on a national and regional basis
Access to Key Industry Bodies
PGFA is part of the Australian Golf Industry Council to work with and provide a public golf perspective into major golf initiatives and decisions.
PGFA is an independent sub-committee of Golf Australia.
Change of Structure
PGFA was set-up as a company in 2016. I operated under this structure until August 2018 when it reverted to a sub committee of Golf Australia on the approval of its members.
Golf Australia has been lending complimentary administration support since 2017.
